An Apple A Day…

Growing up, I have always been an apple lover. Ask anyone who knows me – I have at least an apple a day. Usually two. So when my lovely boyfriend asked me to go apple picking with him this past weekend, I was psyched.

To celebrate the start of autumn, I threw on a pair of jeans, a collared shirt, and Chelsea boots. Unfortunately, the weather decided to misbehave and ended up being a scorching 80 or so degrees. Note that these pictures were taken before my face started to look like a tomato. They were also taken before I smashed myself in the face with my camera and gave myself a black eye. (Yup… a literal black eye). Feeling great about my hand eye coordination skills at the moment. But – at least I have 20 lbs of apples to distract myself with!

September Wine and Reflections

As the weather is cooling down, my family and I are making the most of every warm(ish) evening. We’re lucky enough to live by the beach and so sunset drinks by the water have been a frequent affair.

This last Friday was no different, and there was definitely no shortage of wine.

I’ve really been appreciating time with my family recently. It’s something we so easily take for granted. But I’ve been thinking a lot about the families devastated by Harvey and Irma. I’ve been thinking a lot about the violence in Myanmar. I’ve been thinking a lot about the attack on the London Tube. And I can’t help but feel like I want to hold my loved ones a little closer. Tell them that I love them. Let the hug last a little longer than usual. Savor the sweet moments.

Because aside from recognizing our own privilege and helping out where we can, that’s all we really can do.

I’m feeling small and vulnerable, but feeling loved and very very lucky.

All my love to you, too.

An Introduction To: Dress Pants

About two months ago, I started my first real job (woohoo!). After the initial fanfare and sighs of relief, I realized I had absolutely no office-appropriate clothing. So I hopped onto ASOS’s website and got shopping. As I wandered down the online-shopping-rabbit-hole, I found these gorgeous dress pants and immediately fell in love.

GUYS. Dress pants are so much fun. They’re a really versatile piece and are appropriate for so many different occasions. Not to mention, when I wear them I feel like a powerhouse and want to go conquer the world. Whether you see me in or out of the office, you’ll probably find me in these pants.

Here’s how I’ve been styling them recently…
